Actress Appears in Court for DUI Collision

Celebrities are typically recognized for a role they play or a song they sing. The type of attention they seek is positive. Such is the case with soap opera actress Jensen Buchanan, known for her roles in “General Hospital,” “One Life to Live” and “The Young and the Restless.”

Buchanan recently appeared in court to answer to charges stemming from an accident she was involved in on May 18. In that accident, Buchanan, 53, allegedly drove her Mercedes S550 after consuming alcohol. Buchanan drove head on into a Ford C-Max on Highway 154 and subsequently registered a blood alcohol level of 0.34.

The prosecutor in the case alleges that Buchanan crossed the highway and into the path of Bradley Asolas, 56. The strength of the impact damaged Asolas’ truck in such a way that he had to be extricated from the vehicle before being airlifted to a hospital in Santa Barbara. Asolas had major injuries as a result of the crash. Buchanan was treated for minor injuries before being placed under arrest.

Last Friday, Buchanan and her lawyer appeared in court. Because she is wearing a SCRAM bracelet and living at a sober living facility, the judge ruled that Buchanan did not have to personally appear at her next court date, which was set for September 9.
