Donovan McNabb Gets 18 Days in Arizona Jail for DUI | Hawkins Spizman

GILBERT, AZ – Popular former NFL quarterback Donovan McNabb will spend 18 days in an Arizona jail as punishment for being convicted of DUI. McNabb plead guilty to the charge of non-extreme DUI after being pulled over in Gilbert on June 28 of this year.

The former player was with the NFL for 13 seasons after being drafted in 1999. Thanks to his efforts, the Philadelphia Eagles performed in four straight NFC championship games from 2001 to 2004. The team also realized one Super Bowl berth. After 11 seasons with the Eagles, McNabb went on to play for Washington for a year and then Minnesota for a season. According to McNabb, he does not have a drinking problem.

“Absolutely not. Absolutely not. Could that have been avoided? Absolutely. I’m not running from it at all. But is there a problem? Absolutely not,” McNabb said while in Syracuse.

The former star will report to jail on November 30 to serve his sentence.

Now that McNabb is out of the NFL, he may not have to worry about the implications of a DUI conviction upon his career, but the same may not be said for you. A DUI conviction can seriously impact your ability to maintain employment or secure future employment should the need arise.
