Multiple Injuries in Motorcycle Crash

Multiple motorcycles were involved in an accident Saturday on Highway 411 in Bartow County. The accident occurred just after noon and left two people with serious injuries. One person was airlifted to a local hospital, and a second person was airlifted to a hospital in Atlanta. A third victim in the accident suffered minor injuries, as did a fourth and fifth victim.

While these five people were treated for injuries, numerous other riders and passengers were involved but refused medical treatment. Officials are not saying what caused the accident, nor are they saying why so many motorcycles were involved. It is assumed that those involved in the crash were riding together as a group.

Motorcycle accidents can be particularly dangerous in terms of injury. A motorcyclist is not protected by anything other than clothing and, at times, a helmet. This is unlike a driver of a vehicle who is protected by metal and plastic, as well as seat belts and air bags. Those involved in this particular accident sustained minor to severe injuries but luckily, no one lost their life.

When people are involved in motorcycle accidents, they may suffer loss. They have to pay for unexpected medical bills, they may experience time off of work, and there may be extensive damage to their vehicle. This can all mean financial disaster. The good news is that if another person is found to be at fault, a person involved in a motorcycle accident may also have the legal right to compensation.
