Woman Blames Ex for Erratic Driving

A woman blamed her boyfriend for her recent DUI arrest and the judge simply didn’t buy her excuse. She was sentenced to 60 days in the DuPage County jail last week after being found guilty of driving under the influence.

According to reports, Alexandra Davit, 26, was driving erratically through Naperville, Illinois. Police witnessed her cross the double yellow line in the road and stopped her shortly after. She was also seen running a stop sign.

When police approached the car, they noticed that she had glassy eyes, bloodshot eyes, and a flushed face. Davit denied having consumed any alcohol or intoxicating substances. She told officers that her poor driving was due to her emotional state, having just found out her boyfriend was cheating on her.

Davit’s took a blood alcohol content test and registered 0.173%. That number is more than twice the legal limit in Illinois. There was also a small amount of marijuana located in the woman’s car along with a glass smoking pipe.

Just months later, Davit was arrested again on suspicion of drunk driving. She pled guilty to that charge as well as one charge of misdemeanor possession of marijuana.

Once she is released from jail, Davit will be on probation for two years. She will also be required to enroll in the county’s DUI school and pay court costs along with her fines. Davit’s attorney said that the woman has learned from her mistakes and has gone an entire year without any further driving infractions. Davit did not respond to requests for a statement.
