HSK PI Driver In Crash Has History of DUI Arrests

A woman killed in a car accident leaves behind three children and a husband. She was killed on the scene of an accident that occurred on December 23, just days before Christmas. The man who stands accused of causing the accident has a history of DUI arrests.

According to reports, the woman was on her way home from work when she was hit by a man driving on the wrong side down a divided highway. The man who hit her did not immediately stop, driving a short time before striking a second vehicle. That vehicle’s driver had veered to the side of the road as far as they could in an attempt to avoid being hit.

The driver that caused these accidents was taken to the hospital where police administered a breathalyzer test. The man registered a blood alcohol content of .175. That number is more than twice the legal limit. A check of jail records showed that the man had been arrested for DUI three times in 2011: once in June, once in September and once in October.

In this incident, the man has been charged with DUI, reckless driving, driving on the wrong side of the road and first degree vehicular homicide. He was being held in the Gwinnett County Jail without bond.
