Drake Bell Arrested for Drunk Driving

People of a certain age will remember Drake Bell for his popular role on Nickelodeon’s “Drake and Josh” which ran from 2004 to 2007. He may now be better known for his recent DUI arrest in Glendale, California.

According to reports put forward by several publications, the actor was arrested after being pulled over for speeding and swerving. The police report of the incident says that Bell’s vehicle smelled of alcohol, and that Bell was unable to “satisfactorily complete” field sobriety tests. Police were not forthcoming about which test Bell failed to complete properly or whether he was unable to complete each of the field sobriety tests.

At the time of his arrest, Bell was traveling at 55 mph in a 35 mph stretch of road. He was arrested, booked and later released on bail. Bell posted the bail on his own. The actor’s representatives declined to comment to anyone seeking a statement. Bell has not spoken to anyone publicly to defend himself against his charges.

Bell has been in the news recently because of his tweets about Caitlyn Jenner. Bell tweeted that he would always refer to Caitlin as Bruce. The statement was deleted and Bell apologized for his insensitive remarks.

It was not immediately known whether or not Bell had obtained the services of an attorney, nor was it made public when Bell will be forced to face a judge in criminal court. Whether or not this drunk driving arrest has any impact on Bell’s acting career or reputation in Hollywood remains to be seen.
