Motorcycle Cops Injured in Crash
The wicked weather has hit all parts of the United States. From bomb cyclones to major bouts of freezing rain and ice-cold wind, Americans have been struggling to make it through one of the most brutal winters on record. Highways and roadways aren’t fairing particularly well, as three motorcycle cops in Cobb County recently discovered.
On January 2, three motorcycle officers found themselves on the pavement after slipping over a patch of ice in the roadway. The accident occurred on Kennesaw Due West. The officers involved in the accident were on a funeral detail. They ran across a patch of ice in the road and lost control of their bikes.
Those in the area believe that the ice was on the road due to a leak that sent water onto the road which froze in the cold temperatures. All three officers sustained injuries, with one officer’s injuries being more serious than the other two. That officer was being treated in a local hospital following the accident.
Officials urge people to be extra vigilant when driving these coming weeks. The winter is like one most people have not seen before, and being unused to driving in freezing temperatures can make operating a vehicle of any type more hazardous. If you must go somewhere, be sure to watch weather and traffic reports to become aware of any potential danger.
