Crashes in Atlanta Plague Labor Day

Labor Day began with several crashes in the Atlanta metro area. Crashes resulted in death and severe injury, and had officers scrambling to keep up with accident investigations. The accidents began just before 2 a.m. and continued into the evening.

According to reports, the first accident occurred at 1:45 p.m. A motorcyclist was traveling on I-75/I-85 when he was struck by another vehicle. Officers said that the motorcyclist was speeding just prior to the crash. The driver was ejected from his bike and killed on the scene. That crash caused two other motorcycles to crash and traffic on the highway was slowed.

The second crash occurred at 2:35 p.m. on Monday. A motorcycle and a pickup truck collided on I-75 N. The driver of the motorcycle was thrown from his bike and died on the scene. Yet another accident occurred on the highway Monday evening. A driver on a scooter was struck and killed. The driver that hit the scooter fled the scene of the accident.

Saturday morning, a motorcyclist struck an Uber driver’s vehicle. The motorcyclist struck the passenger side of the vehicle. The motorcycle was traveling at a high rate of speed at the time of impact and was killed as a result of the accident.
