Dirt Bikes Versus Car Proves Fatal
An accident involving two dirt bikes and a passenger vehicle proved fatal, and Georgia State Patrol troopers are investigating. The accident occurred just before 7:30 p.m. on July 23. No other persons involved in the accident sustained injury.
According to reports, Atlanta police were patrolling the area in a concentrated manner. They located the accident on Campbellton Road. The dirt bikes were operating in a careless and reckless manner. They ran traffic lights and stop signs. They also drove on sidewalks and on the wrong side of the roadway.
A passenger vehicle was attempting to make a left turn and the dirt bikes both ran into the car. One of the riders died of his injuries after being transported to a local hospital. The other rider was not injured. The uninjured rider was driving on a suspended license, but neither were suspected of using drugs or alcohol prior to the crash.
The riders were not wearing helmets at the time of the accident. The driver and occupants of the vehicle were not reported to be injured. There was no chase involved in the accident, according to the Georgia State Patrol.
